On Tuesday I visited St Mary’s. St. Mary’s is the official parish church of the university and clearly has a very long history. For an extra 4 pounds you can climb the tower and get a great view of the city and the surrounding area. Continue reading
There’s an open air market next to the bus station in Oxford. They were just setting up while I was waiting for the bus. There was an amazing assortment of products available from this market. Everything from farm produce to hardware. Continue reading

Today I visited Bletchley Park, a two-hour bus and train ride away from Oxford to the northeast. Bletchley Park is the home of the code breakers that have been credited with shortening World War II by at least two years. Continue reading

The primary reason for going to Oxford was to see Ian’s friend Sheelagh’s Morris Dancing troupe. Morris Dance is a form of English folk dance that seems to involve a lot of hankies, sticks, brightly colored clothing, and upbeat repetitive music. Continue reading
