When I was younger the largest telescope in the world with the 200″ (~16.6 feet) telescope at Palomar. Each mirror for the telescope described in the link below is 1.6 times the diameter of the Palomar telescope and when fully assembled the telescope will be nearly 5 times as large.

Lacock Abbey
One of our first visits on Monday was Lacock Abbey. It was originally an abbey founded by the widowed Lady Ela the Countess of Salisbury in 1229. In 1539, Henry VIII sold it to William Sharington who converted it into a house. Continue reading
