Remembering My Dad

Today would have been my father’s 81st birthday.
Earlier today I decided to take a nap.  I just returned from an overseas trip and am still a bit jet lagged.  It seems like I dreamed quite a bit. Towards the end I remember a very vivid dream where I was lying on a bed, propped up on my elbows, looking at something that had to do with photography.  I was talking with my dad about it, who was standing nearby.  He laid down on the bed beside me and I said, “Hey, do you want to look at the pictures?”
“No, not right now.”
Then I thought, in my dream, “I thought you were dead.  You look fine.”  So, I said, “How are you feeling?”
“Tired, very tired.”
“Okay, you can sleep now.”
I immediately woke up feeling startled.
I’m sure Freud would have something to say about this.
I miss my dad.
