On Saturday, 12 Mar 2016, my friend Felipe and I set out to visit a wildlife refuge near Itapuã, RS, Brazil. It’s known for it’s monkeys and beaches.
When we got there we discovered the refuge was closed1 so we weren’t able to enter. There was a nearby campground with a beach though. We hung out there a bit then drove up to the village of Itapuã.
The weather was great, the countryside and the beaches were beautiful. We didn’t see any monkey’s, but I could retire in Itapuã as long as I had a good Internet connection. It was a terrific day. Here are a few pictures.
- Apparently the caretakers hadn’t been paid for awhile so they stopped showing up. Funny how that works. ↩
