Cherhill White Horse

On the way from Lacock to our next destination we passed one of England’s white horses. This one is the Cherhill White Horse. This one was constructed in the 1700’s by Dr. Christopher Alsop. Follow the link above, it has an interesting story. There’s an older, neolithic, white horse in Oxfordshire near where I’m staying. Perhaps I can track it down.

The monument next to it is the Landsdowne Monument erected by the Third Marquis of Landsdowne in 1845, according to Wikipedia.
